Throughout his career, Sylvain has been known as ‘’the guy that makes things happen’’. Always focused on Health and Safety he is a leader with a down-to-earth approach. Sylvain is recognized not only by his peers but also by the clients as an expert in operational efficiency and strategic thinking as well as being an outstanding leader and communicator. He has often been used to manage the most difficult projects.  His shop floor approach has allowed him in the past to ensure a complete understanding of the issues and to work with the team to put in place concrete plans, to improve the situation and to reach and exceed the objectives. 

Avid believer in leadership as a key element of success especially in challenging projects, Sylvain quickly recognizes and surrounds himself with talents that will make the projects a success.

With a bachelor’s degree in Operational Research, Sylvain began his career in the railroad industry as a supervisor with Via Rail Canada. Within a year he was promoted as manager in the servicing department and later transferred to Thunder Bay manufacturing site as the on-site manager of the Renaissance Train Project. Sylvain left Via Rail in 2004 and started his own consulting company specializing in Business process improvement and Business Development.

From 2007 to 2010, he held a senior position at Tbaytel, largest independently owned telecommunications provider in Canada. Returning to the railroad industry in 2010 with Bombardier Transportation as manager of the maintenance department, he works his way up to General Manager on key accounts with Bombardier Operation & Maintenance and he ended his career at Bombardier holding the position of Director of Operation and Maintenance across Canada.
